The Niacin Fish Oil Cholesterol Solution

When ever folk came into our health store, our in house training always taught us to meet enquiries regarding cholesterol with a fish oil solution. There were other herbal supplements to, such as expensive plant sterols and Fenugreek, which binds to cholesterol and carries it out of the body. Garlic too, is also known as being a great heart protector along with green tea. But fish oil for cholesterol was always the number 1 recommendation.

From doing research, I came across health professionals who questioned the existence of cholesterol problems in the first place. They cited statistics from the year 1900, which indicated that cholesterol levels back then were no greater than what they are now, yet heart disease and cancer levels were considerably lower back then. This made some sense to me because why would the body, which inherently fights for survival, want to produce a substance that would knock out the heart of the body, thus bringing forth strokes and sudden death.

Many folk as we all know are taking statins to prevent the liver from producing cholesterol; however long term use can be very damaging. We must keep in mind that the brain also produces cholesterol to perform self repair and statins also prevent this as well! Many health professionals in the complimentary field and now even national newspapers are sounding forth the warning.

While we have every reason to believe that fish oil should be used with cholesterol difficulties, it will become clear that additional factors need to be carried out in addition to taking fish oil. For starters, a Niacin based supplement or B3 as it is known, can be used as a replacement for Statins, without the side effects! This is of course something you may need to research further and discuss with your doctor or consultant.

But getting back to the thought of why would the body accelerates its own death. The theory is simple and very easy to apply and fits in with the idea that cholesterol problems are a myth. The body is designed to be slightly alkaline, if it was not, we would die. The body always tries to keep on the right side of alkalinity. However, there is a serious problem!

Most grains, proteins and all processed foods are acidic! Whereas all your green vegetables, some fruits like lemon, sugars like molasses, grains like millet are alkaline.
To top it all off, stress causes the stomach to produce excess acid! Hence, considering our modern life style and diet, I am sure you can see why most people are often too acidic!

To keep the body on the alkaline side, which is vital for life, the body seeks to locate calcium in order to neutralise the acids and to maintain its alkalinity. Getting the calcium from bones is one option, but an easier rout is to get the calcium from the arteries. Once that is achieved the body then produces cholesterol in order to repair the arteries, which is why cholesterol and calcium deposits are found in the arteries of those with cardiac difficulties.

According to this theory, cholesterol is not the real culprit, but rather the over acidity of the body is, which results in the body having to locate calcium the best that it can for the sake of keeping you alive now.

Fish oil is great for many things, including strengthening the immune system, mental stability and acting as a blood thinner and in preventing blood clots. But in addition, diet must be addressed in the context of the acid alkaline balance. For example if you were to eat a portion of wild salmon and balance it up with a slice of lemon and plenty of uncooked spinach and water crest, then your meal will be balance!

I strongly suggest that you go to your favourite search engine, research what are alkaline foods and what constitute acidic foods, and balance the two groups in your new diet. For example, black tea and coffee are acidic, but green tea is alkaline! White sugar is acidic but as already mentioned, molasses is alkaline. Get to know these 2 groups and stay away from all processed foods, baked goods and canned foods except for maybe sardines and wild salmon.

Do not eat canned tuna, there are no omega 3’s in them due to the canning process. So yes, fish oil can be used as part of a cholesterol solution, but there is allot more than can be done to rid the so called cholesterol problem completely, including living a less stressful life style, and looking also into Niacin, that is B3.
